Come to a workshop to help us improve hospital life!

If you could build anything you wanted to make the hospital safer, what would you make? What would make it easier for you to keep track of what’s going on in the hospital? What would make you feel like you’re on the same team as your nurses and doctors?

We’re holding workshops to get YOUR insight on how to improve hospital life.

What happens at these workshops?

At the workshops we will go through some design activities together. NO EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS ARE REQUIRED! In these activities, you get to work together in small groups to imagine technology that would have helped YOU while you were in the hospital. Some of the workshops will be about people who were hospitalized as adults, and some of the workshops are about kids who were hospitalized, and their parents. In the form to sign up for more information, you can say which kind of hospitalization you have experience with.

Do I get paid for coming to these workshops?

YES! We will give you $50 in cash or giftcard as a thank you for your time.

When and where are the workshops?

We will schedule the next workshops at Virginia Mason Hospital, at a time and date to be determined based on the availability of interested participants. The next two workshops will be for people who have been hospitalized, their caregivers (e.g. a spouse or other family member who helped take care of you while you were in the hospital), and clinicians at the hospital, and will focus on how clinicians, patients, and caregivers can work together to improve life in the hospital, and help patients/families keep track of what is going on in their care.

These workshops will likely be scheduled for February and March.

How do I sign up?
